Obituaries

Mr. Alfonso J. Bryan 68, North Charleston, SC died on 06/20/2021. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 11:00 AM at the Low Country Mortuary. Burial will be in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, McBeth SC. The walk through will be on June 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Due to the COVID pandemic, we will be practicing social distancing and face mask will be required.

Alfonso Bryan affectionately know as “Meat”, “Dyson”,”Ronnie”, “Bubba” or “RaRa”.,was the youngest child born to the late Joseph and Margaret Bryan on January 13, 1953. He was called home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2021. Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents.

At an early age, Alfonso accepted the Lord as his savior and was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist Church. Alfonso attended school at Liberty Hill Elementary and Bonds-Wilson High School, where he enjoyed playing football. Alfonso worked as a carpenter under his father before moving to Miami, Florida where he was later employed under the Department of Juvenile Justice at the Miami-Dade Regional Juvenile Detention Center.

Alfonso leaves to cherish his memories; one sister, Thomasina (Rev. Jesse James) Ogletree; one brother, Eddie (Ida) Bryan; two devoted nieces, Tana (Tony) Mack and Lakisha Johnson-Wells; three devoted grandnieces and nephew, Shanice, Shamon and Anire; four aunts, Nancy Manigault, Laverne (Alfred) Johnson, Ann Gilliard and Gail Gilliard; three uncles, Alfred (Naomi) Gilliard, Ben (Connie) Gilliard and tony Gilliard; a loving pet companion, Fran and a host of other nephews, nieces, grandparents, cousins other relatives and friends.
