I loved you deeply my dear sweet brother in christ whom we shared the same birth date, will be missed on this side but I have faith we will see each other again and I give God the glory that He knew you were tired of being sick so He sent his angels to come bring you back home and you'll never taste sickness again. You are the fortunate one. The word says absent from the body and present with God. And my beloved friend Gayle-0 God will send his holy spirit to comfort you and your family in Bimpster's absence without a doubt so precious allow yourself to grieve and savor the memories and cry, smile and laugh. Cherish it all good and bad. You're one of the strongest people I have encountered but it's okay to be weak right now. I am here day and night if you want to talk, yell scream or just cry. I'll rejoice with you and I will cry with you. Lord how I wish I were there with you holding your hand sitting on the porch drinking coffee in silence and just looking up at the sky. I love you my friend and my heart is broken with yours. As soon as I can I'm gonna get to N. Charleston, the good Lord willing. God bless you my friend in Jesus name. The flock master was elated I'm sure when he got the news Barnes was en route. Rose (xoxoxo)

I used to look forward to talking with Barnes every morning at the bus stop while we waited on the Buist bus to pick up Wonder and my kids. He was a character. Our hearts go out to the entire family, but especially Jocelyn, and Wonder, who is like a second daughter to me. I know she and her Dad had a very special relationship. With much love and our deepest condolences, Roger, Nancy, Michael, and Jennifer. (The Schwartz family)

My family has a special relationship with the Barnes family. Barney was a close and dear friend. He could boost anyone's morale with that smile and one of his stories. When we worked together at CAFB, in the aircraft configuration shop, his speeches at roll calls were hysterical and I will never forget the airman we called "PigPen" for obvious reasons. Barney was tasked to handle this problem. There we were at roll call, standing at attention, while the basket of soap, shampoo, washrag etc., was passed down the line to him. Barney handled that one so diplomatically. How we all kept a straight face, I'll never know. I will always miss you and the great times we had together.Barney. My condolences, sympathy and love to Jocelyn, Wonder, Tookey and the entire Barnes' family. Rest in peace now buddy and all should know what a wonderful man he was and that God is holding him close now. Amen.

One of my favorite memories of Barney was cooking chicken at Charleston AFB when I first met him. The best chicken I ever had with the most charismatic chef! I fell in love with Barney and his lovely family and the love progressed throughout a lifetime. This family is my forever family. I love you all so much and I cherish all of our great times together. Remember love never dies it lasts forever.
