Obituary For James Garrett, Jr.

Mr. James Garrett Jr., 68 of Charleston, SC, was called to his eternal home on Saturday, October 28, 2023. He is now peacefully resting in the arms of the heavenly father. Born on March 13, 1955, in Charleston, SC. James Jr. was the first-born child to the late Deacon James Garrett, Sr., and Deaconess Elnora Holman Garrett. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – Charleston, 1550 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29405. A public viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall. James leaves behind many to cherish his memories: his mother, Elnora H. Garrett of Charleston, SC; his son, James Garrett III, of Sparta, Illinois; his daughter, Katina Nicole Garrett, of Sparta, Illinois; granddaughter, Aleiyah Lynn Nicole Garrett, of Sparta, Illinois; grandsons, Randy James Garrett and James Garrett IV of Sparta, Illinois; his brother, Rodney Garrett (Tracy) of Goose Creek, SC; his sisters, Cynthia Garrett Harris (Dennis) of Columbia, SC; Regina Fields (Bailey) of Fayetteville, NC; Melvine Neals (Otis) of Columbia, SC; Miriam Garrett of Charleston, SC and Pamela Williams (Errol) of Goose Creek, SC; Caring nephews, nieces, cousins, special friend and roommate Leroy Jones, and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Deacon James Garrett Sr., and his brother, Vincent Karl Garrett. The Home Going Service will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023, 11:00 AM at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 1550 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC.
