Obituary For John F.K. Ravenell, Jr.
John F. K. Ravenell, Jr. affectionately known as (LJ) was born in Charleston, South Carolina at MUSC Hospital to John F. K. Ravenell, Sr. and Quanita Mack on April
20, 2002.
LJ was educated in the schools of North Charleston, SC and was a proud graduate of R.B. Stall High School in June of 2020. While in High School, John was a member of the R.B. Stall Band and the R.B. Stall wrestling team. LJ loved showing off his talent for singing by entering Talent Shows. LJ was employed by People Ready from November 2021 until his passing.
LJ was born and raised in the House of God Church Inc., Keith Dominion at Ten-Mile Hill under the leadership of the late General Elder Sarah Lee Zeigler. LJ later became a member of the House of God Church Inc., Keith Dominion Five-Mile
where Tr. Bishop Dr. Mary E. Ravenell served as his Pastor. LJ received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in January 2019. LJ has served his church on the local
and state level. LJ showed his love for Christ through music and had a special gift of bringing young people together through his evangelistic work. LJ was taught at an early age to love the lord with all thine heart and soul. LJ had a genuine love for people.
LJ was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Robert Milligan, Florence
Washington, his maternal grandfather, Robert B. Singleton Jr. LJ leaves to cherish his loving memories to his parents, John F.K. Ravenell Sr and
Quanita Mack; brother, TaJarus Arcaze Thompson; Great grandmother, Albertha Hutchinson; his grandmother, Josephine Lloyd; his great aunts, Barbara Toomer, Ella Mack, Rena Johnson, Sharon Hudson and Linda Adams; his Great uncles; John
Mack Jr., Marshall Mack(Mary), Bobby Hutchinson, Michael Singleton and Larry Singleton his aunts, Claretta Ravenell, Lakesha Mack, Adawnya Mack, Robin Ravenel-West(Raytheon), Annquinette Milligan, Marilyn Brown(Ernest) Lonna Finley-Holland(Larry), Rosalee Matthews(Chad), Keisha Clark(Curtis); Uncle,
Charles E. Williams, Gilbert Milligan(Aline), His God Parent; Latesha McCoy, Shenquia McNeil-Birden, his honorary God mothers; Jeanette, Shareka Mack and
a host of cousins, friends and church family.
The Home Going Service will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 AM at The House of God, 2050 Hampton Ave., N. Charleston, SC. He will be laid to rest in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Ladson, SC. The Wake Service will take place on Friday, September 15, 2023, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the House of God, 1913 Gumwood Blvd. N. Charleston, SC.
