Obituary For Mildred Lethonia Sloss-Alston

Mrs. Mildred Lethonia Sloss-Alston 91 of Ladson, South Carolina died on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mount Moriah. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Ladson, SC. The walk through will be on Sunday, September 19, 2021 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at The Low Country Mortuary, 1852 E. Montage Ave, North Charleston, SC. Due to the COVID pandemic, we will be practicing social distancing and face masks will be required for the funeral services and walk through.

Obituary

Mildred Alston was born on August 10, 1930 to the late Rev. Benjamin Mood Sr. and Mrs. Lethonia Mood in Ladson, SC. She attended and completed her public-school education. she worked as a cook for various restaurants, hotels, and college. She also enjoyed taking care of children. Seeing a child smile and knowing that his stomach was filled was one of her greatest joys. She attended Wesley United Methodist Church in Ladson, SC throughout her childhood and accepted Christ as a Savior. Later on, she attended and became a member of Trinity Holiness Church in Moncks Corner, SC. Under the Leadership of the late Bishop George Footman. In 2007, she attended and became a member of Grace Fellowship Ministries in Ladson, SC under the Leadership of Pastor Sandra Alston & Apostle Freddie Alston. She was also Recognized as the “Church Mother” who did not fail to express her love for others and her joy in serving and praising God to all. She was united in wedlock to the late Mr. Edward Sloss in October 1947 until his death. Their union was bless with twelve children. Years later, she married the late Mr. Isaac Alston in October 1984 until his death. During their union, five children were added to the family thru adoption and her love for children. Four children preceded her in death (Kenneth, Larry, Oneal, Carolyn). Mildred Alston, better known as “Granny or Tootsie” entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 11, 2021. She leaves to mourn as well as rejoice over her life lived-her children: Elaine Denson; Sandra Alston(Freddie); Kathy Pinnacle(Edmond); Terry Sloss Sr.(Belinda); Ann Michelle Brown; Tracy Sloss Sr.(Neffertitie); Shelia Green(Gregory); Corey Sloss (Liz); Tammy Ravenell (Darrell); Janet Alston; James Alston(Lachieta); Timothy Alston; Michael Williams. Brother: Mr. Benjamin Mood Sr. Brother-in-law: Mr. Matthew Sloss(Thelma). Sister-in-law: Emma Mood. (39) grandchildren (42) great-grands (3) great-great-grands. Her special daughters and family: Maria Camacho; Tammy Gordon; Loletta Hill; Regina Jeffries-Nelson. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
