I first remembered my uncle Willie when he returned home to Charleston from the military. He was deployed to South Korea with the United State Army. When he returned home he was very happy to explain what the country of Korea and the Korean people were like. I think he enjoyed being in the military and later in life regretted not staying for retirement. Uncle and aunt Delma lived in a house behind Noah Ark church, Sunday after church l would stop by for dinner. Uncle worked at the officer or enlisted club at Charleston Navy Base. He enjoyed reading and would bring dated news papers and magazines home, l especially enjoyed reading the Jet and Ebony. After graduating high school l joined the military and lived in New Jersey. Years later in search of a better paying job uncle Willie and uncle Dan came to live with me in New Jersey for about a year. I enjoyed being around him, he always expressed happiness and joy. I pray that he enjoyed a great life and asked God into his heart be fore he passed
