Obituary For Ahmad "Abdul " Abdul-Hakim

In Loving Memory of Abdul

September 11, 1950 – July 21, 2025

Abdul, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 74.

Born on September 11, 1950, Abdul lived a life rooted in love, integrity, and unwavering devotion to his Muslim faith. His deep spiritual commitment guided every aspect of his life — from the way he treated others to the wisdom he shared so generously. A man of quiet strength and dignity, Abdul embodied the principles of faith, compassion, and service.

Abdul was a man of the world — well-traveled, curious, and always eager to connect with people from all walks of life. His journeys were not just about seeing places, but about understanding people and cultures. He carried these experiences home, enriching his family and friends with stories, laughter, and the lessons he gained along the way.

Fluent in three languages and a lifelong learner, Abdul placed a high value on education, believing deeply in its power to transform lives. His intellect, curiosity, and global perspective were shaped by his travels around the world, where he found connection in culture, language, and shared humanity. To know Abdul was to experience a man of wisdom, humility, and grace.

He was truly loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether through a kind word, a gentle smile, or quiet encouragement, Abdul made everyone feel seen, valued, and deeply respected. His presence brought comfort, his words brought clarity, and his character inspired all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Brown; their daughter Sawnsurae Lowe and son-in-law Joseph Lowe; and his cherished grandchildren. His daughter Aminah Hassan and grandchildren.y His memory will live on through them and all who were touched by his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in his honor.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

(Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we return.)

I remembered when my uncle would come and visit and we would be ready for him and the jewelry he would bring. He loved to roller skate back in the day. Every time he would called he would loved to check on everyone. May he rest in peace.

We want to offer our condolences to you, Patricia and your family. Abdul was a loyal and loving friend that we both enjoyed during the years we knew both of you. When we met you immediately connected with us on a spiritual level and we have been connected ever since. Like you, we will miss Abdul tremendously but we are also comforted by TMH Yah's promise of the resurrection. So go on with our lives, looking straight ahead, maintaining our relationship with TMH Yah and His Son of salvation, Yahshua, our only hope of seeing our dear departed ones again. Know we love you and yours, always and forever. Shalom shalom. Yosef and Yakira

Bismillah. I knew brother Abdul Hakim for over 10 years. I cannot possibly express how much Abdul Hakim has impacted not only myself but his community, his brothers and sisters in Islam, and everyone he interacted with. He was humble and even as he had trouble walking, he would never burden anyone with a need or want. He would graciously refuse help and even offer help to others every chance he'd get. He offered a smile and a word of wisdom, kindness, encouragement, and a smile to me every time I'd see him. He was extremely knowledgeable and rooted in his faith like an oak tree. Every time we'd part for 10+ years, hed kindly ask me, "please pray for my wife for Allah to guide her". And alhamdulillah his request was finally granted by God. Sister Patricia I pray you feel only peace knowing that Allah surely loves Abdul Hakim for that and may he reunite you both in happiness forever. Its very rare to get an opportunity to befriend someone so special you can feel his presence and warmth before you saw him, and miss him dearly now that he's gone. This world will pass for all of us and I pray we are reunited with souls like Abdul Hakims and immediately we'll be comforted to know we must be in the right place. May Allah have mercy on him and give us all a some of the characteristics of our beloved brother. We belong to Allah and to him we will all return.
