Obituary For Angel Riley

Angel Riley departed this life on April 28, 2025.

“Angel” as she was affectionally called was a name so appropriate for the outstanding, kind, giving, and loving lady that she was.

Angel entered this world on November 14, 1961 as a daughter to the late Nathaniel and Helen Smalls Riley.

Angel was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended CA Brown High School, Trident Technical College and Charleston Southern University, formerly known as Baptist College.

Angel had a beautiful spirit and was always humble. She always saw the positive side of life and encouraged those around her to do the same.
Angel was a real mother and sister. Nothing was too great or too small for her when it came to family, friends and anyone in need. Angel had a giving heart and would share anything she had.

Angel joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at a very young age where she remained a
member until her departure to be with the Lord. She was a member of the Senior Missionary Ministry

Angel worked as a child care provider her entire life. She enjoyed the excitement and happiness that children gave. She would always remark on the joy that they gave.

In September 2022, Angel’s heart was broken when her son, Timothy preceded her in death.
She never fully recovered from this loss. As her health began to decline, Angel continued to fight the battle through the help of the Lord until she was called home.
Angel had an older sister, Andrea Wideman and brother Nathaniel Riley, Jr that preceded her in death.

Angel leaves to cherish her memories: Sisters Deborah Robinson, Renee Hartwell (Ernest), and
Senora Waiters. Nieces Krystal Quick (Darrell) and Janae Moore (Mack). Nephews: Otto Riley,
Isaiah Robinson, III, Thomas Waiters II and Sterling Cohen (Cyndee); Granddaughter, Timyia
Riley and Great grands: Amelodie and Kinsley Rouse; Adopted son, Erick Churchill (Jessica) and
a special friend Becky Alexander and Kylin Franks who touched her heart, along with her lifelong friend Sandra Wright.
