Obituary For Angela Renee Russell - Cross
Angela Renee Russell-Cross was born on August 26, 1961 to the union of Hugh Lee Russell and Norma Lee Russell. She was the sixth of ten children. Affectionately called “Soul” by her father, she accurately became the heart and soul of every environment that she found herself in.
In her formative years she attended Mary Ford Elementary and Chicora High School in North Charleston, SC. Also taking computer classes in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 20 she met the love of her life, Cecil Cross, and two years later entered into Covenant with the same, celebrating wedded bliss for 40 years to the day of her promotion to Heaven. Angela really loved the Lord and demonstrated that love by being very sensitive to do what she was instructed to do by him; to love others. Her small acts of kindness were legendary, always bearing gifts, reaching out to the lost, the least, and the forgotten.
Never one to say much, but loving to laugh, she was a great listener but would encourage and correct others through her powerful and weighty letters. She loved worshiping with the Saints and would even press her way to church even when suffering from a host of afflictions yet mighty in spirit. She was a faithful member of Mount Moriah Christian Center in Waukegan, IL for over 27 years, serving faithfully alongside her husband as a Deaconess, Young Adult Ministry Leader, Hospitality Ministry Leader, Honorary Usher and whatever needs the church leadership requested. A true confidant and friend, she never met a stranger and had over 30 best friends that she communicated regularly with praying earnestly for them, as well as family and friends.
She is preceded in Heaven by her Dad, Mom, Sister; Sheila Russell Sanders, Uncle; John Boyd and Aunt; Vercie Mae Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her doting husband; Cecil Cross Sr., Stepdaughter; Lataria (Eydris) Milton Adams, sons; Cecil Cross Jr., Xavier Cross, and Timothy Cross. Step Grandchildren; Dominique Milton, Alexis Milton, Aliah (Kamari) Milton Gray, Bobby BJ Milton, and Alisia (Hakan) Milton West. Sisters; Linda (James) Samuels, Anita (Michael) Russell Brown, Sherri Duffy, Debbie Russell, Pavia Russell, Tiffany Russell, Brothers; Anthony (Acetra) and Kendrick Russell and a very large host of Nieces, Nephews. Cousins and Friends.
The Home Going Service will Take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, 11:00 AM at Charity Missionary Baptist Church, 1544 E. Montague Avenue. N. Charleston, SC 29405.
