To the family of my friend n former co-worker. It is so sad for me to say that l just put out on FB a few days ago a request for me to reach someone from Mr. Holt's family bcuz l just got all this info today..yes today 6/14/20. I felt like there was a whole left in my heart..a good way down on the inside bcuz l wasn't able to say goodbye. Augustus used to come by n check on me after my ordeal with cancer n he always wanted me to know how much our friendship meant to him. He was so long n giving to me. He would always fuss at me for drinking so much PepsiHe dressed sharper than any two-edged sword n he wouldn't dress down even when we used to beg him to. One day he gave in at SFMS but he came in wearing jeans n a dress shirt n yes you know he had the jeans starched n creasedWe loved him at the school but l personally loved him as a friend and a mentor. I kept calling n leaving msgs n a few txts n he never got back to me but now l see he probably wasn't feeling his best. I will cherish his words of wisdom..l will never forget how much he adored posters n pics my son did of him n one of his son to put up in the school during our Black History Celebration. He lived to empower others..he didn't mind looking you in your face n telling you the truth according to "Gus" l have lost a true friend n l pray he is at peace resting with our Father. He can now be with his heart..his son Lawrence. No more pain..no more Dr's..no more suffering. Thank you for allowing me this space to speak from the heart. He loved his siblings n he smiled n lit up when he spoke about his family. R.l.P Luvu always my friendDiane Hamby

My condolences to the family of Augustus Holt. I pray God continues to comfort and strengthen the family during this time of bereavement. May the many cherished and fond memories of Augustus continue to comfort his family and friends. A comforting thought is at Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a help that is readily found in times of distress." May you all have calming and pleasant thoughts during this time.

To the family of my lifelong friend "Gus;" please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences. God's gift to me was to have the opportunity to speak with him several days before his passing. I know that he is now resting in peace with with his maker. So, I say today, for a life well lived - "To God Be The Glory."
