  My heart was saddened to hear of my good friend Bernice passing. We have been friends since coming up young girls school mates and kept in touch after I moved to New York over the years. We talked not too long ago. So many memories I will always cherish. Just remember every time you smike know that her spirir us there with you. We express our deepest sympathy and empathy in the loss of your wife, Sis. Bernice Levine. I know that Sis. Bernice will be greatly missed, especially by you. Together, you both just celebrated 50 years of marriage; you were inseparable! You demonstrated what a positive and Godly Christian marriage looked like! Sis. Bernice participated in any good work with the Church; she was a worker and a worshipper! She certainly was a virtuous woman. She inspired us all! I remember so many times when I had the privilege to preach at John's Island Church of Christ, or you both came down to the Beaufort Church of Christ. I would often say about your preaching, that if you get in a tight, you could sing your way out, but if I got in a tight, and the sermon didn't go over well, pray for me for the next time! That brought your wife so much joy! We certainly miss her! She was also a hard fighting soldier! She was faithful and she did finish strong! I am hoping and praying that these words bring a level of comfort to you and to your family during this very difficult time! Revelation 21:4, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away..." Revelation 14:13, "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth...that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them." God Bless You Brother Al! We love you, Sis.
