Obituary For Carlos Leroy Dunlap, Sr.

Mr. Carlos Leroy Dunlap, Sr. of Summerville, SC entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 23, 2022. Mr. Dunlap was the father of Michael D. Dunlap, Carlos L. Dunlap II and Bianca S. Dunlap, the grandfather of Saeed D. Dunlap, the brother of Elizabeth Ervin (the late Albert), the late Robert E. LeGrande, Roger LeGrande (Colleen), Pearl L. Lucas (Carlton), the late Bobby LeGrande and the late Randy LeGrande. Mr. Dunlap was the owner of Dunlap Bail Bonding and an avid community activist. The Home Going Service for Mr. Dunlap will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022, 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 7396 Rivers Ave., N. Charleston, SC. He will be entombed in Carolina Memorial Gardens, N. Charleston, SC. The Walk Thru for Mr. Dunlap will take place at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Due to the COVID pandemic, everyone is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

    My Deepest thoughts and Prayers to the Dunlap family. Carlos was such a caring individual for others.I remember needing some documents notarized and I was appointed to Mr. Carlos Dunlap in the small shopping center off of Dorchester Road. May God Cover You all with Needed strength Cimfort and Peace Doung this sad occasion. He was consider a great man of value in the community.

    Mr. Dunlap was an intriguing individual. My first encounter with him was a conversation over the phone. He spoke with such passion concerning community service mentoring our youth. My son participated in several of the football camps during the summer. It is individuals like Mr. Dunlap who makes a difference in our communities. He will be so missed.     My Love and condolences and prayers to the family. I met Carlos Dunlap thirty-three years ago working For FEMA and we both belong to Mt Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. He was always such a loving caring person he will truly ne missed and each Sunday he always greeted us. I Thank God for the years I knew him. My God continue to Bless and keep the family.     My condolences to the Dunlap Family. Praying for the family that God gives you Comfort and Peace as only He can. Mr. Carlos was a true gentleman. As a member of the Berkeley County Clerk of Court staff, I'm truly grateful to have known such an awesome man. I will always remember whenever I asked how he was doing, his response would always be, "I'm Blessed." He'll be missed. R.I.P. Mr. Carlos

    My family and I want to express our deepest sympathy and prayers. Carlos was a great friend and mentor to a lot of my AAU basketball players. He was always happy to sponsor any kid that needed help. He will truly be missed. Take your rest my friend.

    Mr. Carlos, Mr. D, Coach, friend - he will be missed by so many. He was a mentor to so many young people in the Lowcountry and helped so many back on to the correct path in life. He loved God and he loved his children and grandson as well as many others. I truly believe he never met a stranger.

    I met Mr. Dunlap when I was a magistrate judge. He was always pleasant, professional, and nice. I enjoyed talking with him each time.

    Carlos and I had lots of great conversations while he served in the US Navy, stationed at WPNSTA Charleston in the early 80's. We worked together in ESB. He was such a calm spirit and always a true gentleman. My sincerest condolences to his family.
