Obituary For Dorothy Watson

Dorothy Watson 80 of Charleston, SC died on Thursday, August 5, 2021. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00 AM. The walk through for Mrs. Watson will be on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at The Low Country Mortuary. Due to the COVID pandemic, we will be practicing social distancing and face masks will be required for the graveside services and walk through.

Mrs. Dorothy Watson was predeceased by her husband, Earl Watson. Mrs. Watson is the mother of: Naomi W. Wages (Alvin); Earl Watson, Jr. (Nicole), Ernest Watson, Sr. (Jackie), Charles Watson, Norman Watson, Victor Watson (Pamela), Donald Watson (Deceased) and Corey Watson (Deceased).

Obituary

Dorothy Champaigne Watson, daughter of the late Thomas, Sr. and Sarah Champaigne was born September 20, 1940 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was the wife of the late Earl Watson, Sr. and the mother of seven sons and one daughter. Dorothy was lovingly called, “Dot”. She was loved by all who knew and came in contact with her. She was willing to give a word of encouragement and wisdom of life. She was educated in the public schools on James Island and graduated from Middleton High School in Charleston, SC. Dorothy was employed at James Island Headstart for over thirty years as a the head cook. She was a home health care worker. She became a member of the Church of Christ on October 20, 1979 where she attended until she became ill. She was a loving mother and sister. Dorothy leaves to cherish her precious memories, one daughter; Naomi W. Wages (Alvin), seven sons; Earl Watson, Jr. (Nicole), Ernest Watson, Sr. (Jackie), Charles Watson, Victor Watson (Pam), Norman Watson, Donald Watson (deceased) and corey Watson (deceased), one brother; George Champaigne, one sister in law; Elizabeth Stewart, one daughter in law; Denise Watson, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, a special niece; Valerie Ladson (Tony), nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by six brothers; James Champaigne, Thomas Champaigne, Jr., Roosevelt Champaigne, Walter Champaigne, Richard Champaigne, Willison Drayton and four sisters; Lucille Wright, Mary McDaniel, Elizabeth Cheeks and Lillian Green.
