In Loving Memory of Earl LaShane Motley

On Saturday evening, January 22, 2022, Earl LaShane Motley entered into eternal rest fulfilling the course of his earthly life into heavenly glory. Know by many as “Shane” he was born on November 27, 1962, in Albany, New York to the late Marguerite and Lenzy Motley Sr. Shane loved the outdoors and especially loved fishing. At the very beginning of the month of March until end of August, Shane could be found fishing, listening to his jazz music, from sun up to sun down. As soon as the weather would start to get warm and the snow would melt, Shane would gather his fishing gear, pack his lunch for the day and off he would go. Later in the evening, Shane would arrive home with a bucket full of crappies, bass, catfish, blue gill, etc., ready to be cleaned and fried. Shane was mostly known for his delicious cooking. When he was not fishing, Shane could be found in the kitchen. Many of us have been privileged to enjoy his cornbread, macaroni & cheese, turkey soup (to name a few) and anything he could get his hands on to cook. Along with his parents, Shane is predeceased by his brother, Lewis Matthew Motley; his sister, Judy Motley and best friend, Andre Peavy. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Tonya, his daughters Lashaunda and Latasha; his granddaughter, Liliani Michele Brown; his sisters, Cynthia (Lee) Van Bergen, Lily Gaillard, and Tajma Motley; sister-in-law Zanetta Motley; his brothers, Sherman, Lenzy Jr. and Reverend Charles (Michelle) Motley and, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Memorial Service will held in Albany, New York at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 441 Washington Avenue, Albany, New York 12206; Reverend William E. Morgan, Pastor. Further details will be forthcoming.
