Obituary For Earthy Willamae Thomas

Earthy “Willa” Willamae Thomas was born on March 5, 1960 to Barbara G. Thomas and Wilburn Casey, Sr. in Charleston, South Carolina. On December 25, 2024, she went home to be with the Lord in Marietta, GA. She had nine sisters and brothers of which four preceded her in death; Kenneth B. Thomas, Vincent L. Thomas, Phillip S. Thomas and Barry L. Thomas.

Willamae was educated in the Charleston County Public School District. She was employed with the Hilton Hotel Group as a Night Auditor for over 20 years. She was a skilled Crafter who was very gifted and creative in designing beautiful handmade, decorative items to enhance any living space.

Willamae was a devoted Christian who believed in the Bible as the Word of God. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and she was a member of Soul Saving Deliverance Center in Charleston, South Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Charles H. Jones. She later became a member of Evening of Prayer Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor William A. Prioleau until she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. Willamae was a member of Lionheart Church in Austell, Georgia under the leadership of Pastor Otha Turnbough until God called her home.

Willamae is loved by her family and friends. She will truly be missed and she leaves to cherish her loving memories, her siblings; Vanessa T. Foreman (Michael), Karen A. Rivers (Robert), Cecelia E. Thomas, Wilburn Casey (all of Charleston, SC) and Carla D. Thomas of Charlotte, NC, her aunts; Hermine Cummings, Juanita Calvery, Betty Young and Cynthia Young and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The Home Going Service will take place on Saturday, January 4, 2025, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery, Summerville, SC. The Walk thru will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
