Obituary For Eugene Joy, Sr.
The relatives and friends of Mr. Eugene Joy, Sr. and those of his wife, Janette Joy; those of his children, Eugene Harris Joy, Jr. (Chavella), Jonathan Joy, and Ashley Joy Pouncie (Elliot); and those of his siblings, Christena McCants, Bishop Thomas L. Joy (Alice) and Christopher Y. Joy, Jr. (Condida) are invited to attend his celebration of life service on Thursday, February 7, 2019, 11:00AM at New Israel R.E. Church, 69 Simmons St., Charleston, SC. Interment: Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Friday, February 8, 2019. Mr. Joy will repose from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the mortuary on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 for an informal visitation.

To The Family, Please accept my Heartfelt Condolscences. Truly the loss of a loved is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise that our most loving Heavenly Jehovah God gives in Revelation 21:4” And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. Along with my High School Coach Eugene Graves, Eugene Joy set the tone for my competitive spirit at age 15. I am forever indebted to Gene for being such a well prepared, gentle giant, during my early years in sports. Moreover, I feel blessed to have been born in the same time frame as Gene. God granted him the three scores and ten promised to man; and I sincerely hope and pray that his family will continue to be blessed as a result of his spiritual commitment to life. Rest in peace my brother!!!
