Obituary For Eunice Matthews Riley

Eunice Marie Matthews Riley was born May 2nd, 1941 in Egg Harbor, New Jersey to the late Elder L. J. Williams and Mother Viola S. Williams.

Eunice attended Buist Elementary and Burke High School in Charleston, SC.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Robert Lee Riley, Sr. on April 9th, 2006, to this union created a blended family of seven adult children.

She was preceded in death by: sons, Alex and Robert and siblings, Sadie Murphy, Sadie Brown and Stella Williams

She was a godly wife, mother, grandmother and spiritual mother to many.

She was employed with the Charleston Place Hotel until retirement. She was a private duty nurse with a zeal and passion for people she prayed and believed God for healing for those entrusted to her care.

Eunice received the Lord as her personal Savior at a young age. Under the pastorial leadership of the late Pastor Georgianna German Edmondson at New Zion IAME Church. Eunice received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1967 under Apostle Johnnie Washington throughout her journey she Apostle Johnnie Washington throughout her journey she studied under R. W. Shambach and A. A. Allen Ministries.

In the early 70s Eunice and the late Mother Canty, Mother Whaley, and Evangelist Thomasina Ray went about carrying the Gospel, during that time Eunice became a member at Cainhoy Miracle Revival Center under the leadership of the late Apostle Helen Smith.

She heard the Clarion call to start a Bible Study at New Holmes Street Baptist Church, where many souls received the baptism of the Holy Spirit through the teaching of the Word of God.

Eunice also along her journey mentored many men and women of God teaching the Word of God in the early 90's.

Throughout her journey she carried God's Word traveled across the world throughout the ministry, Virginia, Washington, North Carolina, She touched her feet upon many states spreading the Gospel. Throughout the journey, Pastor Henry E Dixon, Apostle Dr. W. Lenard King, were apart of the lifes. She connected with New Covenant Evangelistic Center (1998-1999) she was able to preach and evangelize without a license and Apostle King was able to the her to engagements as she could minister as opportunity was given to her.

Eunice joined Miracle Faith and Deliverance Ministries #2 under Apostle Dr. Michael Jerideau, Sr. In 2006. In 2007 is when she was ordained as Pastor Eunice M. Matthews-Riley.

She rejoined Rock of Truth Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Bishop Ronald K. Anderson, where served as Church Mother.

On Monday, August 29th, 2022, she transitioned from earthly heavenly reward. The scripture exclaimed, 2nd Timothy 4:7-8, " I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not only but unto all them that love his appearing.

Eunice leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Clarence Matthews (Debra) of South Carolina, Alphonso Rollerson of Summerville SC, and Michelle Smith (Barnabus) of Texas. Her siblings: Alethia M. Williams, Bernice Marion Dawson, Judge Williams, and Anthony Williams all of Charleston, SC. Eight grandchildren, Twenty-one great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, spiritual sons and daughters and a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.

The Home Going Service for Ms. Riley will take place on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, 11:00 AM at Rock of Truth Deliverance Temple, 5000 Gaynor Ave., N. Charleston, SC. She will be laid to rest in The New First Missionary Baptist Church, Edisto Island, SC. The Walk Thru will take place at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
