Obituary For Gary Laverne McPherson
Mr. Gary Laverne McPherson entered into eternal rest on Saturday March 27, 2021 in Washington, DC. Mr. McPherson is the brother of Christine Donna McPherson Harris, and Joseph Lawrence McPherson(Darnell), the step-father of, Tandy Mazo(Sean Cardwell) and Cherie Bailey, the grandfather of, Saraah, Rebekah, Leyah and Marleena, the great-grandfather of, Imani and Leyah, there are a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and friend. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, April 08, 2021 11 AM at the Sandhill United Methodist Church Cemetery(Clubhouse Community)Ridgeville, South Carolina. There will be a walk-thru on Wednesday, April 07, 2021 5PM-7PM at the New Francis Brown United Methodist Church 2517 Corona Street, North Charleston, South Carolina. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC WE DO REQUIRE THE USE OF MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WHILE ATTENDING SERVICES AND WALK-THRU'S.

My sincere condolences and prayers to the family; as we will miss this creative aspect of Gary... "flexibility". As his mindset could demonstrate that there was usually more than a single answer or solution to any particular issue or problem. And when we were in the Bonds-Wilson High School band together, he could at times introduce augmented or diminished notes into the music, or into life...just like a Duke Ellington composition; just to add some color or dissonance to the music, but it was always in the right key of the song, and we had to eventually, "smile".

I remember Gary from years past as we both were in BW High and SCSC bands. Gary had a very jovial and fun personality. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to the family.
