Obituary For Geraldine R. Brown

Mrs. Geraldine Brown, affectionately known to all as “Deedee” , daughter of the late Alonzo Black and Mary Oliver (reared mostly by Eva Richardson, her late grandmother) was born on September 29, 1948 in Charleston, South Carolina. She answered God's call into eternal rest on December 17, 2024. She attended Charleston County Public Schools.

Geraldine married Master Sargaent Harry L. Brown who preceded her in death in 2019. To this union, four children; Octavia, Harry II, Darrell and Ingrid. She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 daughters; Octavia Davis (Nathaniel), Ingrid Venning (Antwan) and Kim Jones, 3 sons; Harry II, Darrell Brown( Pat) and Steven Mazyck (Sharmon) all of Charleston, SC. One son preceded her in death; Maurice Richardson and one son in law preceded her in death, Mr. Willie Jones, 25 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

The Home Going Service will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024, 12:00 noon at Rosemount Community Baptist Church, 1856 Meeting Street Rd. N. Charleston, SC. She will be laid to rest in Brownsville Cemetery, Summerville, SC. There will be no Walk Thru on Thursday.
