Herman Lee Smith was born on July 27, 1951 in Charleston, SC to Richard Smith and Annie Brown both preceded him in death. He departed this life on April 24, 2024.

Herman was educated in Charleston and graduated from Blakley High School and received his BS degree from Morehouse University in Atlanta, GA. He loved working with his hands and helping others. Herman was a member of Royal Missionary Baptist Church.

Herman was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Marion, his brother, Evrith Smith, his uncles and aunts,; Lawrence and Edna Brown and Louise and Thomas Brown-Cooper.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Brenda Smith of Atlanta. GA, son, Terez L. Smith of Atlanta, GA, his grandson, Terez Daniel of Texas, his siblings; Maple G. Porterfield (Hosey) of North Charleston, Rachel Smith –Herrington of Charleston, SC, Portina Nance of Charleston, SC,, Barrick Smith of Summerville, SC and James Miller (Carol) of Greenville, NC, Aunts; Margaret Sanders (Buster) and the late Sadie Brown-McCray and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends, special family whom he treated like his sons; Jeffrey Ford and Albert Washington.

The Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
