  Though our hearts are heavy with sorrow, we remember him not in silence, but in the echoes of his witty jokes and bright sense of humor. Capt. Hawkins was fearless yet genuine and caring. He was well respected by not only his fellow colleagues but also the inmate population. He was "jokey" as some would say, however, he stood on business when needed. He was a leader and a great supervisor that exuded relentless devotion. He will be sorely missed. Rest Well in Our Father's Eternal Grace Capt. Hawkins!   I'm so shocked right now! I was praying I would not see his face and there's the big man right there. "J" and I worked together at Burlington Coat Factory. We became good friends because I would crack the jokes, and he was my audience. We lost contact after I changed numbers, and I hadn't seen him in years. I'm happy to know he had a wife and children. He was truly a great guy. Please know that I'm offering my sincere condolences and lifting everyone up in prayer.
