Obituary For Jessie Mae Lamb

Mrs. Jessie Mae “Sister” Hughes Lamb was born April 21, 1945 , in Hemingway South Carolina. Jessie departed this life Thursday, January 16, at Lowcountry Hospice House Summerville, SC.

Jessie was a 1963 graduate of Bonds Wilson High School in North Charleston, Jessie Met and married Benjamin Lamb Sr. with a lasting marriage of 46 years.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents ; Rev. and Mrs. Jessie Hughes, siblings Prince Harry "Pippy" Hughes, Franko Olin Hughes, and Betty Tuggle, Brother-in-law Richard Gantt Sr.

Cherished and loving memories will remain with her husband, Benjamin Lamb Sr., Children ; Denise L. Gibson(Anthony), and Benjamin Lamb Jr., Siblings; Jeanette Gantt, Mary Allen, Gloria Palmer, Anthony Hughes(Cathy), Ella Williams(Curtis), William Hughes(Bernett) and Annette Heyward(Ronald). Brother-in-law; Hayward Tuggle and Sister-in-law Delia Hughes, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Home Going Service will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 11:30 AM at Union Baptist Church, 4428 Piggly Wiggly Dr. N. Charleston, SC. She will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery. The Walk Thru will take place on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the church from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

    I spent some time around her as a child/preteen while visiting my cousins. Seen her be a good grandmother to them. She was a breath of fresh air and had a smile that was contagious. May she rest peacefully 🤍🤍🤍
