Joseph Charles VonDohlen, Sr. passed away at his residence in Charleston, SC on May 26, 2020 at the age of 61. He was born July 23, 1958 in Charleston, SC to Herman “Bud” VonDohlen and Betty Oliver Strickland.

Joseph was joined in marriage to Virginia Renee Johnson VonDohlen on July 25, 1993 in Goose Creek, SC and they shared 27 years together.

Everyone knew him as Joe! He attended Howe Hall High School in Goose Creek. He always provided for the ones he loved. Throughout his life, he worked very hard in multiple jobs and many different trades. He was a fan of the Gamecocks and Dallas Cowboys. He loved doing cookouts at the lake for family and friends. He had a way that could make you laugh. He had a loving spirit.

Joe would give to family and friends, if he had something they wanted or needed. He touched many lives here on earth and he will be dearly missed by the ones who loved him.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, mother brother and sisters. He is survived by his wife; Virginia, 6 children; Joey, Lisa, Steven, Kayla Brittany and Tristen along with their spouses, 11 grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

A private service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020, 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
