Obituary For Karen June

Karen Denise June was born in Charleston, SC on April 28, 1963 to the late John and Elizabeth M. June. On Sunday, February 9, 2025 she peacefully departed this earthly life to enter eternal rest.

Karen was educated in the Public School Systems of Berkeley and Charleston County School Districts. She graduated from Bonds-Wilson High School, class of 1983.

Upon completion of high school, she worked at various location as a custodian and ended her career in the same field for over 30 years, with the City of North Charleston, where she retired in 2018.

She loved sports and showed it by using her talents in every area. From score keeper, coach, umpire, referee, etc. She put her talts to work in several counties and was an asset to all whom she came in contact with.

She was passionate about her service to the Lord. She was a former member of Charity Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served in various capacities; pastor aide board, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, and missionary ministry until she moved her membership officially in 2022 to Ebenezer AME Church. She was faithfully attending, being involved in all areas of service such as; Sunday School, Bible study (morning and evening) etc. before she made it official. Service was her MOTTO!

Karen left a memorable impression on all she came in contact with. Her love for people and dedication for anything she put her hand to do, was an example of Discipleship. She walked the walk, talked the talk and lived the life of true Christianity.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; John and Elizabeth M. June, maternal grandmother; Viola G. Snipe, siblings; Robert Snype, Rodney Snype, Sterling Snype, Marcellis June, Virginia Cornelius, Letha B. Levaine and John E. June.

She leaves to cherish her memories: sons; Lavar June (Tamara) of Moncks Corner, SC, Demon June (Krystal) of Jacksonville, NC, siblings; Lisa Gause (James, Sr.) of Goose Creek, SC, Geneva Baylock of Moncks Corner, SC, Joseph W. June of Goose Creek, SC, and Winston L. June (Joann) of Augusta, GA, grandchildren; Demon Jr., Demari and Kennedy June of Jacksonville, NC, James Jr., Rodney, Jessica, Amani, Malani, Alimard (whom she helped raised and considered them as her grandchildren), Kim Jones and Robert Snype (whom was raised in the home with her and other siblings), special friends; Sondra, Robin, Odessa, Debbie, Mike, and Sharon just to name a few that were there for the journey and staff of her favorite restaurant for breakfast, The Hut. To The Family, Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4"And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
