Levy W. Berry, of Hanahan, SC, peacefully entered the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on September 4, 2025. He was born into a large farming family in Long County, GA, where he was one of seventeen children born to the late Arnold Fairbanks Berry, Sr., and the late Mamie Jane Smith Berry. Mr. Berry relocated to Charleston, SC, as a part of his military service in the United States Air Force (USAF) after completing tours in Japan, Germany, Spain, and the Azores. Pleasant, amongst serving on many other Committees, Boards, and quietly serving the needs of so many others on an individual level.

Mr. Berry is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years, Shirley (Alston) Berry, three wonderful sons: Wendell, Keith, and Bryant, one daughter-in-law, Kimberly (Keith), three granddaughters: Joi, Leila, and Kaila, and four grandsons: Caleb, William, Wallace, and Tyrek.

I'm at a loss for words right now! I had the pleasure of interacting with Mr. Berry when I was in the Building Inspections Dept for the City of Charleston. He and Theresa Gadsden were my go-to-people at CPW. We spoke so much on the telephone that he said to me, I'm coming to your office to meet and introduce myself to you. Mr. Berry came to 75 Calhoun St and he became my bonus Uncle that day. Such a wonderful person. Extremely respectful and polite! Most importantly, I knew he was a man of God. His walk and talk were a beacon of light that couldn't dim. I'm blessed that our paths crossed, and I was able to embrace the knowledge of Mr. Levy Berry. Servant of God well done.

To The Family, Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4"And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever.
