Obituary For Martha Middleton Gause
Mrs. Martha Middleton Gause, the daughter of the late Richard and Easter Middleton was born on June 26, 1941 in Charleston County. she was raised in Ladson, SC.
She received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She was employed by the Charleston County School District.
She was united in wedlock to the late Mr. James A. Gause and to this union four children were born.
At an early age, she joined Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the choir and teh Missionary Board.
She departed this life on November 28, 2023 at Lowcountry Community Hospice House. She was preceded in death by eight siblings; David Middleton, Richard Middleton, Julius Middleton, Joseph Middleton, Nancy Nelson, Virginia Hall, Christina Middleton and Mary Middleton. She was also preceded in death by one son in law, Robert Pinckney, Jr. She was affectionately known as Granny to many in the community.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are: Dennis Middleton, Sr. (Tracey) of Newport News, Virginia, Deacon James Gause, Sr. (Lisa) of Goose Creek, SC, Bertha Pinckney (Robert deceased), and Angela Gause both of Summerville, SC. She has 11 grandchildren; Sofia, Dennis, Jr., Robert III, Kevin Sr., Mark, Allison, James, Jr., Christopher, Demetra, Jessica and Rodney. She has 8 great grandchildren; Donte, Jaevel, Kevin, Jr., Robert IV, Brayden, Amani, Malani and Jacob and a host of loving relatives and friends.
The Home Going Service will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023, 11:00 AM at Charity Missionary Baptist Church, 1544 E. Montague Ave. N. Charleston, SC. She will be laid to rest in Cherry Hill Cemetery, Ladson, SC. The Walk Thru will take place on Friday, December 1, 2023 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
