Obituary For Michael Lawrence Richards
Mr. Michael Lawrence Richards, Sr., born October, 26, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas, peacefully departed this life on July 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the cherished husband of Shirley Richards, devoted father to Michael Richards, Jr. (Summer), Apple Valley, CA; and Lawanna Richards, Atlanta, GA and adored by his grandchildren; Mykelle and Shai Daniel Richards.
Michael's life was enriched by his relationships. He was first married to Rhonda Richards, with whom he ha Michael, Jr., and late to Catherine Richards, who blessed him with Lawanna. On March 4, 2006, he married his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Richards and gained four step daughters; Felicia Johnson (Condie), Columbia, SC; Tawana Malone (Maurice), Tampa, FL; Shirley Wright, Charlotte, NC and Tiffany Wright, Denver, CO. Michael's love extended to his step grandchildren, siblings; Sandra, San Antonio, TX; John , Las Vegas, NV and Yolanda, Union, New Jersey and his late sister, Cynthia Stephens who preceded him in death on June 1, 2024; his special aunt, Joyce Thompson, San Antonio, TX; as well as his extended family, church family and friends.
The Home Going Service will take place on Thursday, July 25, 2024, 11:00 AM at The Goose Creek Church of Christ, 539 Old Moncks Corner Rd. Goose Creek, SC. He will be laid to rest in Mitten Lane Cemetery, Moncks Corner, SC. The Walk Thru will take place on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
