Obituary For Rico Ardeen Hartwell
Rico Ardeen Hartwell, of Charleston SC was born on May 19,1970. Rico entered into eternal rest on December 31, 2024 at the age of 55. Rico attended public school in the Charleston area ending at Stradford High School. Rico was the owner and operator of his own landscaping business ; Lawncare Service of Hartwell & Hartwell.
Rico was a beloved son, brother and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rico's strength, kindness, and loyalty to his family and friends stood out. His love for those close to him was evident in everything he did, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
Rico was preceded in death by his father Benjamin Gregory , Maternal grandmother Mary Hartwell Miller and Sister Takesha Hartwell.
He is survived by his mother Betty Hartwell Whaley (Otis), Brother Corey Matthews (Lakeyia) and Sister Zana Matthews. Oòomkuu
Special friend Mary Davis and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
Rico will always be remembered for his genuine spirit, resilience, determination and the joy he brought to the lives of those who loved him as his life reminds us of the power of second chances.
The Home Going Service will take place on Friday, January 10, 2025, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery. The Walk Thru will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

My condolences to the family and friends of Rico Ardeen. I know this is a difficult time and may God continue to comfort and strengthen the family during this time of bereavement. May the many cherished and loving memories of Rico continue to comfort his family and friends.
