He was born January 25, 1941 in Charleston, SC to Elizabeth Middleton and father Henry Richburg. He spent some of his young life growing up on Johns Island but returned to the city of Charleston where he grew up eventually graduating from Bonds - Wilson High school. He joined the military upon graduation and served in the Army and also the Air Force. He was a Vietnam War Veteran. He married his wife of 59 years in December of 1963. He was a very hard worker and upon leaving the military had jobs in major plants in Charleston including GE and Alumax. He always aspired to have his own business and taught himself how to drive tractor trailers. He started as a worker at Overnite Trucking to gain experience upon receiving his CDL. He then worked until he became an owner operator leased to Landstar under his own company Seymoure’s Transport until retirement. He was a devoted father to his children. He spent most of his life serving as an elder in his local congregation. He spent much time teaching his daughters the importance of hard work and education and was very proud of all that they achieved. He loved playing cards, fishing, and spending time with his family. Most remember him as a quiet man but those that knew him well knew that he had a lot of stories and good advice to share with those he loved, normally in a quiet space with just you and him.
