imon Jerome Chavis, Jr. entered eternal rest September 11, 2025. Simon was born August 31, 1957 to the late Simon and Claudette Chavis in Trenton, New Jersey. Simon was raised in Trenton by his adopted parents Herb and Betty Campbell (deceased).

He graduated from Trenton High School and soon after joined the military, serving 27+ years. During this time he met Albertha Washington whom he made his wife, soon after retiring, Simon became a longshoremen. During the years Simon was here with us, we know he was a strong and hard working man that took care of his family. If you asked and he had it, you got it.

It’s sad to see such a loving, caring and devoted man leave us. As these past years went by all he did was care for his family and wanting to win the lottery.

Now that he has gained his wings , he leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Albertha Chavis, his children; Latoya James, Simon (Salena) Chavis, Rita Chavis, Bonnie (Mike) Young, Nathanial and Malakai Chavis, his siblings; Charles Shuman, and Bernard Chavis, Rhetta Chavis (deceased), Ann Chavis (deceased), 1/2 brother and sister; Bernadetta Campbell and Craig Campbell, a host of 14 grandchildren, 9 great granchildren, neices, nephews, other families and friends.
