Obituary For Stephen Maurice Lance, Sr.

Stephen “Bootie” Lance, age 63, was born and raised in Charleston, SC to the late Edith Louise Lance. He was the grandson of the late Joseph and Annabell G. Lance Blye, Jr.

Bootie attended Burke High School. He also worked various jobs in the Charleston area. Bootie was a very dependable worker and worked very hard so he could take care of his love ones. He was known as a family man. Family came first. He treated everyone around him as family regardless of who you were.

He loved spending time with his family and friends and he enjoyed every single moment, especially his grandkids, they were the light of his life. They held a special place in his heart. He loved being a grandfather and raising his grandkids. He will truly be missed by everyone but heaven has gained an angel.

Stephen “Bootie” Lance is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Virginia Jones, sons; Stephen Lance, Jr. (Shiriqua), Jamie Jones, grandkids; Tranice Jones, Honesty Tisdale, Harmony Tisdale, sisters; Rosemary Lance, Betty E. Lance Pinckney (Robert), 3 sister in laws, brother, Michael Lance (Rosie), aunts; Shirley M. Lance Jenkins, Mary Ellen Lance Davis (Franklin), Jacqueline Lance Campbell, Dr. Louester A. G. Robinson (Peter), Theresa Smalls Bradley, uncles; Samuel Lance, Jr. (Debra), Simon Blye, Dr. Marvin L. J. Blye (Nafisah), Curtis C. Blye, Sr. (Stacy) and a host of family and friends.

The Home Going Service will take place on Saturday, June 8, 2024, 1:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to ret in Hillsborough Brown Cemetery. The Walk Thru will take place on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
