I have known Tammy since we were children. I was her sister, Shawn's classmate and friend. Tammy has always been one of the sweetest, kindest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. My heart goes out to Tammy's entire family. I pray that your memories keep a smile on your face and in your heart every time you think of Tammy. May GOD's love and comfort sustain you. Always, Robin Barrett-Robinson

Tammy and I worked together for several years. She took her responsibilities seriously and could always be depended upon to give the kind of effort necessary to see that the job was done. Even in those situations that were extremely stressful, Tammy maintained a great attitude and focused on the work at-hand. On a person level, Tammy was a very kind person, had a great sense of humor, and was always respectful to those around her. She had a great smile! I regret that once our work relationship ended, we didn't have the opportunity to see or speak to one another quite as often. Nevertheless, going forward, memories will more than suffice when I think about what a pleasure it was to have known such a wonderful person. My condolences and prayers go out to both her and her family.

This news has totally caught me by surprise. I was able to get the honor of meeting and getting to know Tammy as a CHA employee. Tammy was (is) one of the sweetest ladies I met. Her spirit will continue to live on through all who know and loved her. Prayers going up for the King-Carter family. Althea C. Brunson

Tammy "Top Cat" Carter (the "Top Cat" came as a result of her initials). You have always been a kind, yet firm individual. That soft spoken voice helped me many days at work. We laughed, told our jokes, and always kept each other encouraged in spite of the turbulence of the work environment. To Julius,Tammy's children, and grandchildren, your wife, mother, and grandma was very special to all of us. Thanks for sharing her with us - we needed her love and support to help us at work. Tammy Monique King-Carter, take your sweet rest Lady. You will always be loved and I'm most certain your memories will live on through your family and friends.

My heart is heavy today after hearing of Tammy's passing. I saw her at the Metro Diner about two months ago. She was with her husband and she walked up to my table and I was so happy to see her. We had a nice visit and exchanged contact information. Tammy, Odessa and I had a special bond while working at the Charleston Housing Authority. On Valentines Day, I was surprised by a sweet Valentine card from her, and I let her know how nice it was to get a card from her and wished her a wonderful day, as well. That is who she was - thoughtful and caring. She was truly an angel among us. My thoughts and prayers go out to her loving family and friends. Sharon D. Shipley

My heart is hurting but God has said his yolk is easy and burden is light. Tammy was a very dear friend, classmate, and fellow employee at the Charleston Housing Authority. She and her good friend Odessa Haskins behind the scenes would work regularly 12-14 hour days in the office together. I would tease Tammy that she had to have a special bond with Julius for him to give her the support to work so long. She really loved her family and we often spoke because we were so similar. She was the only employee I know of who resigned and was rehired twice. Please know that she is with her "Papa" now which I know she missed dearly. Stephen Wright, Retired Lieutenant
