West Leonard Gray Jr., 78, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 2, 2022, at home with family and friends by his side. West was born on April 30, 1944 to the late West Gray, Sr. and the late Florrie Gray Oliver in Barnwell, SC. and was raised by his step father the Late Edward Oliver. West attended Bonds - Wilson High School in Charleston. West enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served for 4 years and fought in the Vietnam War. West retired as a Longshoreman after 27 years of service. West is survived by his children; LaDell (Tamar) Gray, Latrechia (Wendell) Washington, and Troy (Michell) Gray; Stepdaughters; Cylinthia Moore and Kiecha (Michael) Jones, 3 sisters; Beverly Scott, Theresa Oliver and Karen Oliver, 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. West was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Gray. He was an avid motorcyclist and a car enthusiast. He enjoyed taking long rides on his Harley Davidson and traveling. The family will greet friends Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5 PM – 7 PM at The Low Country Mortuary,1852 E. Montague Ave., North Charleston, SC. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11 AM at New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ, 2929 Louise Drive, North Charleston, SC. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
