Obituary For Woodrow Anderson Cooke

Woodrow Anderson Cooke , son of the late Agnes Carrey Cooke and the late Richard Prosser Cooke was born in Gloucester County, Virginia on February 22, 1941.

Woody as hew was affectionately called attended the Public Schools in Gloucester County. After graduation, hew was employed at Bethen Steel Shipyard as a Foreman. He later worked under his own business driving trucks in Winnsboro, SC.

Later in life, he joined The United House of Prayer for All People under the Pastorialship of Apostle Cloud in Winnsboro, SC. He was baptized on October 1, 2006 by Bishop Madison. Under the Pastorialship of Apostle Cloud, he was ordained an Elder and was later assigned as the Assistant Pastor of the The United House of Prayer for All People, North Charleston, SC.

Later in life, he met a true Jewel who became the love of his life, Ethel Lee Hill and they were married on September 10, 2011.On March 6, 2024, Brother Cooke answered the masters call after long health issues. He will definitely be missed for his love of sports, the Dallas Cowboys and Westerns.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, daughter , Angie Cooke, sisters; Juanita Berry (Tom) and Evelyn Tines, brothers; James Johnson and Richard Cooke.

Left to cherish his memories; his wife , Ethel Cooke, children; Millicent Cooke, Woodrow Cooke, Jr. of Baltimore, MD., Kevin Cooke of New Jersey, step children; Charles Quick (Adrienne) of Summerville, SC, Reginald Quick (Merry) of Moncks Corner, SC, siblings; Joyce Chisman (Richard) of Yorktown, VA, Linda Holliman of Gloucester County, VA, Althea Johnson (Alfred) of Edgewood, MD and Howard Cooke of Newport News, VA; sister-in-law; Doretha Bland of Ridgeville, SC , brothers-in-law, Rev Joseph Cobin (Sandra) of Summerville, SC and Rev. John Cobin (Lisa) of Summerville, SC, a special great grandson; Zamir Thompson of the home and a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The Home Going Service will take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, 12:00 noon at United House of Prayer for All People 2290 Otranto Rd., N. Charleston, SC. Interment will be private. The Walk Thru will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the funeral home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
