Obituary For Yvonne G Smith
Yvonne Green Smith affectionately known as “Slim” was born on July 9, 1960 in Charleston, SC to the late Anna Ruth Williams and Joseph Brooks. Yvonne gained her wings on June 25, 2025. She received her education at Burke High School class of 1978. Then when went into the workforce working as a housekeeper and a desk clerk, she was a fast worker. She was married to the late Christopher Smith.
Yvonne Green Smith lived an unconventional life, characterized by her unapologetic approach to living with her being the light in every room she walked in. She enjoyed talking trash and making others laugh and her God.
Yvonne leaves behind three lovely daughters; Shamakia Greene, Latoya Greene and Tanisha Smith, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters; Barbara Greene, Elaine Myers and Sandra Drayton, brother, Joseph Greene and a special friend, Bruce Williams, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all will forever cherish her memory.

To the family of Yvonne, I am soo very sorry for the loss of your loved one ❤️ 😢. I met her in 1979 at Southeastern Business College and she has been a part of life since 😢. I could see that beautiful smile she had and that big afro 😄. Every time she would see me, we would always embrace. She would ride the city bus with me and we would talk, until she got to her destination. Once I retired I didn't see much of her. There are no words to ease the pain of death but, God will continue to strengthen you all during this most difficult time. She was a very gentle soul, I know she will be missed by family and friends. Heartfelt prayers 🙏🏾 😢 ❤️ and condolences are being sent your way, stay strong for mama!! Love you guys.
